IRENE GARCIA PERALEJO
Inspired by her mother's accomplishments, Irene G. Peralejo pursued her education at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music under National Artist Emani Cuenco, Philippine composer Bernardino Custodio, and Dean Estella Brimo. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the College of the Holy Spirit under the supervision of Sr. Giovanna Ferriols, Sr. Estela Rosal, with the piano tutelage of Dean Erlinda Fule, Rosario Buencamino-Licad, Lydia Bunag, voice mentorships with Maestra Jovita Fuentes, Dolores Fracia, music composition from Prof. Francisco Buencamino at the Centro Escolar University, for her degree in education with Sr. Rosalinda Abejo, RVM, Ms. Fe Muyot, and Dr. Isabel Hizon from the College of the Holy Spirit.
In 2004, Teacher Irene completed a series of programs at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto from the Technology for Music Teachers under Joseph Miran where she specialized in Early Music Childhood Education under Prof. Ellen Smee and Prof. Elanor Krzatala; Kodaly Level 1 Pedagogy under Prof. Editha Lantos; The Art of Teaching Music from Dr. David Slabotsky, RMT; Orff Approach from Christine Pouliot; Jazz and Development of Stylistic Skills Improvisations and Repertoire under Angela Elster; Proper Use of the Piano under Andre Markow; The Metric of Dance under the Artistic Director of La Belle Danse Baroque, Daniel Gariepy and Dalcrose Eurhythmics from Prof. Daniel Himes.
She has also completed her MA in Values Education at the University of Asia and the Pacific and is currently completing her Doctoral degree in Educational Management from the University of Santo Tomas.
